How we differ from other types of communicators

Information developed by technical communicators typically:

  • has a technical focus
  • is written to explain and inform
  • is objective and fact-based
  • is direct, accurate, clear and concise
  • is targeted at a specific audience so that they are able to perform tasks or make decisions
  • is structured and presented so that the audience can easily find the information they need as quickly as possible and can understand and apply it.
